The steps were built to link the Spanish Embassy to the Holy See (located in Piazza di Spagna) with the Trinità dei Monti Church above.
The Spanish Steps are a famous Baroque-style monumental staircase in Rome, Italy, connecting the Piazza di Spagna at the bottom to the Trinità dei Monti church at the top.
