Cappadocia
1
Day
This astonishing journey will introduce you to Istanbul, a vibrant city
where east meets west, as well as Cappadocia, one of the mustsee places in the world. Discover spectacular natural wonders and
the unique historical and cultural heritage of the Cappadocia region
where distinctive houses, churches and monasteries have been
carved into ancient rock formations. Beneath Cappadocia is equally
intriguing with its ancient underground cities. Enjoy discovering this
exceptional creation of Mother Nature.
Arrive in Istanbul and enjoy a private transfer to your hotel. The city’s
combination of long history and spectacular setting spread over seven
hills and surrounded on three sides by water makes it a particularly
rewarding place to explore.
Explore the city’s historical sites. Join a tour to visit Topkapi Palace – a
maze of buildings from Ottoman times; the Blue Mosque – notable
for its six exquisitely slender minarets and cascade of domes; the
Hippodrome, Hagia Sophia, Suleymaniye Mosque and the Grand
Bazaar where amongst the maze of narrow cobbled streets thousands
of small shops offer an unbelievable choice of goods.
Take a cruise on the Bosphorus for magnificent views of the city.
Following your cruise visit Rumeli Fortress, Dolmabahce Palace and the
Spice Bazaar.
Take a domestic flight to Nevsehir Airport. On arrival, transfer to your
hotel in Cappadocia.
This morning visit Göreme open-air museum, which resembles a
vast monastic complex composed of scores of refectory monasteries
placed side-by-side, each with its own fantastic church. It represents
the finest of the rock-cut churches, with beautiful frescoes whose
colours still retain all their original freshness. Continue your visit to
Devrent Valley, Pasabag Valley, Avanos and Uchisar.
On the following day explore Kaymakli underground city – the largest
underground city in Cappadocia; Cavusin Village – a quaint and
picturesque village which houses the abandoned ‘old’ village, all carved
into the hillside and Ortahisar Village housing the jagged castle with the
biggest fairy chimney in the Cappadocia region.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Istanbul
and then your international return flight.
